
Apple Sports – a free iPhone app that gives fans access to real-time scores, stats and other information – is now available for download on the App Store in more than 170 countries and regions worldwide, including more than 90 newly added markets. Designed for speed and simplicity, this app delivers a personalized experience and puts fans’ favorite teams and leagues front and center with a simple, intuitive interface designed by Apple.
Apple Sports helps fans prepare for the World Cup by allowing them to explore tournament groupings and customize their leaderboards simply by watching the entire tournament or their favorite national teams – making it easy to stay on top of key moments when the tournament kicks off in June. Team tracking also allows for live activities1 on the lock screen of the user’s iPhone or Apple Watch, allowing them to follow every moment of the match with just a glance. Fans can also add widgets to their iPhone, iPad and MacBook home screens to follow the tournament in real time.2 With Apple Sports, fans can easily go to the Apple TV app with a single tap to find live matches on connected streaming services throughout the tournament.3

New features designed to keep users informed and engaged throughout the tournament include:
- A look at the tournament lineup: A clean, scrollable view of fixtures and results for each round allows fans to easily follow a team’s progress from the group stage through their final match.
- Visual training: Improved game cards include visual formations for each team’s starting line-up to provide deeper tactical insight before each match.
- One tap to go to Apple News: Apple News connects fans directly to comprehensive editorial coverage, including the latest headlines.4
